Serving Christ Through Education in His Holy Church
We are thankful for your willingness to serve as a tutor and to offer your time and talents to support the educational and spiritual growth of our students. As we work together to strengthen our Orthodox Church through education, this agreement outlines our mutual expectations and responsibilities in a spirit of love, humility, and Christian stewardship.
1. Purpose
The purpose of this agreement is to establish clear expectations, responsibilities, and consent regarding the instructor’s involvement with the coordinator in providing educational support services to students.
2. Confidentiality
You agree to maintain the confidentiality of any student information, academic records, or personal data shared with you as part of your role. You will not share or disclose any confidential information to unauthorized individuals or use such information for personal gain.
3. Proprietary and Educational Materials
All curricula, lesson plans, teaching materials, documents, recordings, and other resources that tutors or instructors create, acquire, or have access to as part of their role are the sole property of the Organization unless otherwise stated in writing. You agree not to copy, retain, distribute, share, publish, reproduce, or use these materials – whether for free or for profit – outside of your assigned role without prior written request and explicit written authorization from the Organization. This obligation continues after the termination of your service.
4. Compensation (if applicable)
This position may be voluntary or paid. If compensation is provided, it must be agreed upon in a separate written agreement.
5. Code of Conduct
Refrain from promoting personal services, businesses, or unrelated activities to students.
6. Termination
Either party may terminate this Agreement at any time without cause by providing written notice to the other party. Teachers/Tutors shall provide at least two (2) weeks’ written notice prior to termination. Saint Yared Institute for Orthodox Christian Classical Education may terminate this Agreement immediately, with or without notice, if it determines that immediate termination is necessary, including but not limited to violation of confidentiality, misconduct, or failure to comply with the terms of this Agreement.
For purposes of this Agreement, misconduct shall be interpreted broadly and shall include, but not be limited to, unprofessional behavior; insubordination; dishonesty; neglect of duties; inappropriate conduct toward students, parents, clergy, staff, or volunteers; conduct inconsistent with the moral, religious, or educational mission of the Organization; or any act or omission that, in the reasonable judgment of the Organization, may harm its reputation, operations, or community.
7. Survival
The provisions of this Agreement relating to confidentiality, non-disclosure, intellectual property, indemnification, and any other provisions which by their nature should survive termination shall remain in full force and effect following termination of this Agreement.
8. Acknowledgment and Acceptance
By signing below, you affirm that you have read, understood, and agree to abide by the terms outlined in this Terms and Conditions Form.
